Bijou Stories is all about documenting the stories of the LGBTQ+ community and sharing them in creative ways which make them accessible and relevant. Whilst the stories may be documented in traditional ways i.e. oral history/audio recording, video and photography and written documents, we also want to explore how we can highlight the stories – fanzines, posters, performance, visual artworks music etc – all of which introduce the audience into the rich world of LGBTQ+ history.
We want to hear from people who have a story to tell, it can be something of acknowledged historical significance or a personal memory, the feelings you associate with a song or a place.
Join us on Friday 4th March in Studio 2 at Bathway Theatre to share ideas and thoughts over a cup of coffee. We would love to see any photographs, flyers, mementoes you may have and perhaps allow us to photograph them as part of our archive of Bijou Stories.
Paul from Bijou Stories will be joined by artist and writer Caroline Smith for this informal drop-in session.
Friday 4 March 12.30 -14.30, Studio 2, Bathway Theatre, Woolwich. SE18 6QX
